QR Codes: the New Passwords!

No More Passwords uses a QR Code for login especially helpful on public computersRecently Google tested QR Codes as a secure way to login to your GMail and other Google accounts. Public computers may not be the best place to type in your usernames and passwords. There may be several reasons to be concerned.

That same process is now available for WordPress logins with a new plugin created by Jack Reichert called “No More Passwords.”

This plugin places a QR Code on the login screen. The login still works the same way as always, but gives an alternate login method.

The first time you scan the QR Code with your smartphone, a cookie is set so that subsequent logins will be automatic. It seems like magic that next time you scan the code and the dashboard on the computer opens automatically when you scan the QR Code.

Give it a try.
