QR code Makes Sun-Sentinal Front Page

October 27, 2010

Sun Sentinal front page featuring a QR codeToday’s Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinal (Wednesday, October 27, 2010) has a QR code right on the front page. The QR code appears as an enhancement to an article about luxury yachts and the upcoming International Boat Show.

Scan the Sun Sentinal's QR code for more yacht imagesScan the QR code and you are taken to a mobile photo gallery of the different yachts mentioned.

QR codes can be a great way for the reader to get more information on articles. In the case of the boat show, perhaps a geo-location link with directions to the location of the show or a calendar link would have been better options or even additions to the landing page.

When you use QR codes, don’t just link to the most obvious or easiest mobile info. Think about what may be most interesting or helpful to the recipient of the information.
